VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTOR, SAM DEDE CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY

Samuel Dedetoku popularly known as Sam Dede is a legendary Nollywood actor, director, producer, politician, lecturer and a philanthropist. 

He was born on November 30, 1965 in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria. He is currently 57 years old. 

Sam Dede is a native of Okrika, a Local Government Area in Rivers State, in the south southern part of Nigeria but grew up in Lagos, Nigeria.

Sam Dede completed his primary and secondary school education where he obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. After completing his primary and secondary school education, he proceeded to University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. After his National Youth Service (NYSC), Sam Dede came back to University of Port Harcourt and obtained his Masters Degree in Theatre Arts.

Sam Dede is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Port-Harcourt in Rivers State where lectures in the Department of Theatre Arts. He is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood), he has been in the industry for over 20 years and has acted in more than 250 Nollywood movies.

Sam Dede joined the Nigerian movie industry also known as Nollywood professionally in 1995. Sam Dede in the course of his acting career has acted alongside top Nollywood actors and actresses like Pete Edochie, Zack Orji, Patience Ozokwor, Laz Ekwueme, Gentle Jack, Stephanie Okereke, Genevieve Nnaji, Saint Obi, amongst others. 

He has acted in movies like Isakaba, Igodo, Mission to Nowhere, Darkest Night, War Front, The President must Not, Ebube, Lion King, etc.

In 2005, Sam Dede won the African Movie Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He has also won the award for Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

In 2012, Sam Dede was appointed by the Rivers State Governor as the Director-General of the Rivers State Tourism Development. 

Sam Dede is one of the most gifted actors in Nollywood. He is one of the most talented actors in Nigeria. He is very talented in acting and interpretation of roles. He has won many movie awards and recognitions both in Nigeria and abroad.

Sam Dede is currently married with many beautiful children and is currently based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in the south southern part of Nigeria with his family, where he combined both his lecturing job and movie acting together to support his family.
