Troops kill bandit kingpin notorious for imposing illegal levies on residents in Zamfara

The North West troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma, have neutralized several terrorists, including a notorious bandit kingpin known as Alhaji Maoli, in Zamfara State. The Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Center, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, December 27, in Gusau, revealed that the success was recorded on December 26, 2024.  "The operation took place in Mai Sheka village, near Kunchin Kalgo town, one of the local communities that had suffered under Maolis reign of terror, he stated.  Maoli was notorious for imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other surrounding areas in the Bilbis district of Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. According to Lt. Col. Abdullahi, the neutralization of Maoli has brought relief and excitement to the residents of the Bilbis area. "The operation was initiated in response to an intelligence report about terrorists on motorcycles operating in the Bilbis axis of Tsafe LGA.
