Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Informant in Adamawa Intelligence Operation

By Tgnews Reporter

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected terrorist informant during an intelligence-led operation in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent support networks in the North-East.

According to security sources, the suspect, identified as Alhaji Sule Bako, was apprehended on Wednesday, August 5, in Dzangola Kilba community following credible intelligence alleging his involvement in sharing information with terrorist elements operating in the area.

The operation was reportedly conducted at about 11:40 a.m. by troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) under Operation Desert Sanity V, a component of the military’s sustained counter-insurgency campaign.

Sources said the suspect was arrested without resistance and is currently in military custody, where he is undergoing preliminary interrogation while investigations continue to determine the extent of his alleged involvement with terrorist networks.

Military sources noted that the arrest is part of a broader intelligence-driven strategy by Operation Hadin Kai aimed at disrupting terrorist activities by targeting not only armed insurgents but also their support structures, including suspected informants, logistics providers and collaborators.

The military has continued to intensify offensive and intelligence operations across the North-East in a bid to deny terrorist groups access to local support networks and strengthen security in communities affected by insurgency.

The allegations against the suspect have not been tested in court, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty through due process.
