Triple H speaks on lack of black representation on WWE PLEs: ‘I don’t see color’

He’s getting a lot of criticism for that response too. During the Bad Blood post-show press conference last night (Sat., Oct. 5, 2024) in Atlanta, Triple H was asked about concerns over a lack of diversity on WWE premium live events, notably the lack of representation of black male wrestlers. When asked how he makes sure there is representation but also everyone gets the opportunity they deserve he had this to say: “I don’t see the difference in anybody. I don’t see the color, I don’t see the nationality, I don’t see any of it. I just see talent. I don’t see the difference between men and women. I see talent. We tell stories with those talent, how they can handle those stories, and how they can represent those stories, and how we can bring those stories forward. I don’t keep track of any of that. Whatever the biggest stories are that’s where we go.”

There has been quite a bit of criticism on social media regarding this answer, like much this:

You can actually go back to an answer Cody Rhodes gave to Mark Henry while he was in AEW back in 2019 to see why saying you don’t see color is such a bad answer.

It seems clear Triple H meant well enough but there was certainly a better way for him to answer that question. Assuming he sees the response he got for his answer here, there won’t be any reason not to have that better answer going forward.
