Transfer: Osimhen does not want to play for us again – Napoli

Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, disclosed that Victor Osimhen has made it known he no longer wishes to continue playing for the club.

Despite his efforts to secure a transfer on deadline day, Osimhen was unable to secure a move away from Napoli, with attempts from Chelsea and Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ahli, falling through.

As a result, Napoli has taken action by removing Osimhen from their Serie A squad and reassigning his number nine shirt.

“The situation is very clear, it has been since the end of last season.

“Victor expressed his absolute desire to not stay at Napoli, to not play for Napoli, and we tried to make him happy,” Manna told DAZN.

“Then there is a demand and an offer, we thought that we had concluded the negotiations, but then it did not go through.

“We bought Lukaku, kept Raspadori and Simeone, which was not to be taken for granted.”

Osimhen’s future remain unclear at the moment but he could secure a move to Saudi Arabia with the transfer window in the Asian country still open.
