Tragic Incident: Technician Electrocuted While Fixing Ceiling at RiversaratorS

An individual referred to as Autin, reportedly a technician, met with an unfortunate incident of electrocution at a well-known wine bar situated on gas turbine road in Rumuekini, within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Autin, originally from Kogi State, was engaged in repair work within the ceiling of the establishment when the accident took place during the afternoon hours of Thursday.

The absence of any response upon calling out for Autin raised concerns among the residents, prompting them to investigate the situation immediately.

Upon alerting the authorities, the management of the wine bar promptly reported the incident to the Choba Police Division, leading to the dispatch of officers to the site for the retrieval of the deceased’s body and a thorough on-site evaluation.

Confirmation of the occurrence was provided by Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the state’s police Command, who mentioned that the investigation into the matter was ongoing.

Superintendent of Police Iringe-Koko affirmed, “I can indeed confirm the incident. Officers from Choba Police have conducted an initial examination at the scene.”

She added, “The bar owner lodged a formal complaint with the police, and further inquiries are being pursued. The body of the deceased has been transported to the mortuary.”
