Sometimes a Japanese automaker opts not to export a car to the US because of a perceived lack of demand. We don't have much use for kei cars here in the US, after all, so we miss out on all those Daihatsus and the Suzuki Cappuccino. Toyotas and Hondas that make it to America typically have a lot of mainstream appeal, like the Tacoma and the Civic.
