Top Spanish coach wants to lead Golden Eaglets

Former Angola coach Roberto Bianchi has applied to lead the Golden Eaglets.

A local man has headed the Golden Eaglets since 1985, when the team made history by winning the inaugural U17 FIFA World Cup in China.

Bianchi was in charge of Angola between 2017 and 2018.

The 57-year-old Spanish-Brazilian coach application showed a working experience in Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Jordan, Angola and Uganda.

He has also scouted for La Liga clubs Villarreal and Valencia.

Bianchi has a CAF A licence and speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English.

The NFF technical committee plans a departure from the past where Manu Garba and Nduka Ugbade have often headed the country’s U17s.

SCORENigeria has reported that as many as 40 foreign coaches have applied to head the Super Eagles following the departure of Jose Peseiro at the end of his contract.
