Tony Khan books Okada in a title match everyone wants to see on AEW’s next PPV

After months of endless middle fingers and family in-fighting, AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada cheated his way to victory over Konosuke Takeshita in December at Worlds End, as part of the Continental Classic tournament.

Don Callis agreed to give Takeshita a rematch against Okada with the gold on the line if they could get along in their tag team match against the Young Bucks last weekend at AEW Dynasty. That didn’t happen, of course. Both stars attacked each other during the match, with The Alpha abandoning The Rainmaker to take the fall at the end. Takeshita later gave a sarcastic “Oops!” when confronted about his decision.

On tonight’s (Apr. 16) Spring BreakThru episode of Collision, Callis said that Takeshita didn’t follow through on his side of the deal, so he would see to it that the title match of Okada vs. Takeshita didn’t happen. However, a pissed off Okada wasn’t okay with that idea. He told Don that he wants the match. He knows that he can beat Takeshita, because he’s a champion, and Takeshita isn’t.

President Tony Khan then made it official as the first match announced for AEW Double or Nothing next month (May 24) in New York City.

This rematch has been building for a very long time and is going to rule.

Who do you think walks out with the AEW International Championship when Okada and Takeshita punch each other in the face over it on PPV next month? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
