President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prayed for lasting peace, national unity and an end to insecurity and other challenges facing Nigeria during his Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The President also asked Almighty Allah to guide the country’s leaders with wisdom, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among Nigerians and grant the nation sustainable peace and stability.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency said President Tinubu performed the spiritual exercise at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, where he circumambulated the Holy Ka’abah in worship, devotion and thanksgiving to Allah for His blessings on Nigeria and its people.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, the President described the Umrah as significant, saying it reflected his love for Nigerians, commitment to national service and submission to the will of Almighty Allah.

Tinubu expressed gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage, adding that prayers were offered for Nigerians to live in peace, harmony and happiness.

He also expressed hope that the country would continue to make progress in economic prosperity, social development and security.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria where citizens, regardless of their religious or social backgrounds, can live in safety, dignity and harmony.
