President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on its 75th anniversary, praising the organisation’s enduring contribution to national development and communication.

In a State House press release issued byBayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, ahead of the April 1 milestone, the President extended his greetings to the leadership and staff of the FRCN, as well as the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation and other affiliated agencies.

Tinubu described the FRCN as a dynamic and influential institution, noting its position as Africa’s largest broadcast network, with 47 FM stations and six zonal stations across the country.

He highlighted the corporation’s longstanding role in bridging communication between government and citizens, describing it as a reliable platform for information dissemination, education, and entertainment for over seven decades.

The President also acknowledged the organisation’s historical significance, stating that it has documented Nigeria’s journey from the colonial era through post-independence development, while maintaining archives that serve as valuable resources for leaders, students, and researchers.

Commending its impact on human capacity development, Tinubu said the FRCN has remained a training ground for some of the continent’s finest broadcasters, producers, and sound engineers.

As the corporation marks its 75th anniversary, the President urged it to remain committed to its mandate and continue to uphold its slogan, “Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation.”
