President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates to key diplomatic missions including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France and Turkey.

This marks the first batch of postings from the 68 nominees confirmed by the Senate in December.

Recall Dockaysworld reported that President Tinubu had appointed a new batch of ambassadors.

The appointments were announced in a State House press release issued on Thursday and signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the release seen by Dockaysworld, President Tinubu approved the posting of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, while Colonel Lateef Are was named ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

The President also confirmed the posting of Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

In addition, Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, was appointed ambassador-designate to Turkey.

The appointment comes ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to Turkey next week.

The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the governments of the four countries of the appointments in line with established diplomatic procedures.

The statement noted that the postings represent the initial phase of deploying the ambassadorial nominees earlier cleared by the National Assembly.
