This Aftermarket Oil Pan Could Solve Oil Pressure Issues In The Toyota GR86

One track driver's tests suggested high-G maneuvers could reduce oil pressure in his GR86, but a high-capacity oil pan may be the solution.

This Aftermarket Oil Pan Could Solve Oil Pressure Issues In The Toyota GR86

Back in 2023, we reported that some owners of the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ had been experiencing lower-than-optimal oil pressure when putting their cars through the paces on the track. Brian, the person behind the YouTube channel 900BRZ, is one such owner, documenting a drop in lubrication during certain on-track maneuvers in a YouTube video that pitted a 2022 BRZ and GR86 against a 2017 BRZ. Full-throttle, high-rpm engine operation during fast right-hand corners showed a discernible loss of oil pressure in both the newer cars, while the first-generation Toyobaru resisted the phenomenon. It seems as though 900BRZ's efforts have led to a solution, however.
