Bengaluru and New York-based Lyzr AI has raised $8 million in fresh funding, closing a round that originally targeted $15 million but was recalibrated due to valuation preferences. The company plans to use the funds to double its team, strengthen its platform and deepen its enterprise partnerships, particularly in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI).

“We were looking to raise $15 million at a $75 million valuation,” Anirudh Narayan, co-founder of Lyzr AI, told AIM. “But we didn’t get the valuation we wanted, and we didn’t want to dilute 25%. So, we decided to raise $8 million instead, which gives us enough runway to get to $12 million in revenue and prepare for a much larger Series B.”

The funding round was led by Rocketship.vc, with participation from GFT Ventures, Accenture Ventures, Firstsource, Plug and Play Tech Center, BGV, Arka Venture Labs and PFNYC.

From Data Analyzer to Full-Stack Agent Infrastructure

Founded in August 2023 by Siva Surendira, Narayan and Jithin George, Lyzr AI began as a data analytics assistant called Data Analyzer—the inspiration behind the name Lyzr.

As the generative AI wave accelerated in late 2022, the team realised that enterprises needed more than analytics. They needed private, secure and customisable AI agents capable of interfacing with their internal data.

“We realised companies…need their own private Perplexity or ChatGPT. That’s when we decided to pivot into a full-stack agent infrastructure platform,” Narayan said.

Today, Lyzr’s platform is built on four key layers that work together to deliver a complete agent infrastructure. The framework layer manages agent safety, responsibility and integration with large language models.

The low-code studio enables users, including those without technical expertise, to build agents within minutes. For engineers, the developer mode provides the flexibility to customise and modify code at a deeper level.

Finally, the observability layer tracks and monitors agent performance and usage across deployments, ensuring reliability and transparency throughout the system.

Lyzr’s flagship platform, Agent Studio, allows both professional developers and no-code users to build secure and reliable AI agents that integrate seamlessly into enterprise workflows.

By leveraging Lyzr’s technology, insurance companies can develop agentic systems to automate customer support, claims processing, policy renewals and endorsements. Similarly, banks can deploy AI agents to streamline loan approvals, customer onboarding, and governance, risk and compliance audits.

The Accenture Connection

One of Lyzr’s biggest milestones came through its partnership with Accenture, which is both a customer and investor in the startup.

“Accenture actually has six or seven use cases with us,” Narayan shared. “Their most popular one is the corporate venture capital platform, where they use Lyzr agents to identify and evaluate startups for investment.”

Using Lyzr’s system, Accenture can now automatically score potential startups based on its internal evaluation frameworks, generate investment memos and share insights with its leadership teams.

Besides, with Lyzr AI, Accenture aims to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI across the BSFI sector.

“We won the Accenture Ventures Challenge in 2024 and that led to our deeper collaboration. It’s been a strong validation of our technology and enterprise readiness,” Narayan said.

Other enterprise customers include AWS, Persistent Systems, Hitachi, Publicis, Firstsource and HFS Research.

Lyzr operates on a hybrid business model that caters to both small businesses and large enterprises. For startups and small and medium-sized businesses, the company offers a self-serve SaaS tier priced at $19 per month, providing platform access along with usage-based credit packs.

Larger enterprises, on the other hand, engage through contract-based pricing that typically starts around $250,000 annually. These enterprise contracts include platform access, delivery, customisation and dedicated support.

Currently, the company employs 85 people, 77 of who are based in India and eight in the US and Canada. Moreover, it plans to expand its team by hiring another 40 employees in the coming months.

The company currently generates $1.5 million in revenue, with an additional $2 million in the pipeline and a goal of reaching $10 million for their Series B.

Competing in a Crowded AI-Agent Landscape

The agent ecosystem is getting crowded, with GitHub’s Agent HQ, Microsoft Copilot Studio and OpenAI’s AgentKit all vying for developer mindshare. But Lyzr’s focus, Narayan said, is on enterprise-grade customisation and delivery, something the tech giants are unlikely to do directly.

“Big players will continue building horizontal stacks,” he said. “But enterprises still need partners to bring agents into production. We offer that full-stack service and delivery model.”

Another area of focus is BFSI, where Lyzr is developing pre-built agents for regulatory monitoring, claims processing and teller assistance—core enterprise tasks that can benefit from AI automation.

“Our vertical focus will define our next phase of growth,” Narayan said. “When it comes to banks, for instance, we can automate processes end-to-end while ensuring compliance and data security.”

What’s Next

Lyzr is preparing to launch a Lovable-style no-code agent builder, allowing users to build AI workflows through natural language prompts.

“Imagine saying, ‘Build me an intercom-style customer support agent,’ and the system automatically creates the PRD and logic flow,” Narayan said. “That’s where we’re headed—agentic coding powered entirely by English.”

The company also partners closely with AWS and NVIDIA for compute resources and model integrations.

With new capital, strong enterprise traction and a differentiated focus on private, customisable AI agents, Lyzr AI is positioning itself as a “full-stack agent company” for the enterprise era.

“Our mission is twofold. We want to be the one-stop platform for enterprises building their agent workforce—and we want to democratise agent building for everyone,” Narayan concluded.

If growth targets are met, Lyzr plans to raise a Series B within the next six to nine months, aiming for a valuation north of $200 million.
