“The Storm is Over, Justice Has Spoken”: Komsiri’s Response to COURT Verdict on ADC Ch’ship in Adamawa

By Emmanuel Kwada

‎In a landmark judgment delivered today, the Adamawa State High Court discarded a suit of Legitimacy filed by Comrade Shehu Yohanna of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effectively bringing to an end the protracted intra-party tussle that has rocked the party for months.

‎The court ruled that the mandate freely given to Saidu Komsiri and his 44-member State Executive Committee, the 21 Local Government Area Executive Committees, 226 Ward Executive Committees, and 4,104 polling unit coordinators by the party’s critical grassroots stakeholders remains valid, lawful, and constitutionally sound.

‎Reacting to the verdict in an emotion-laden statement titled “The Storm is Over, Justice Has Spoken,” Komsiri described today as “a deeply emotional day” for himself, supporters, and the entire Adamawa ADC family.

‎“For months, we passed through a fire of confusion, accusations, and uncertainty. We were tested. We were challenged. But today, the truth has finally stood tall,” he said.

‎Komsiri, who revealed that there were nights he could not sleep while carrying the burden of the crisis, thanked party members across all levels for their prayers and unwavering support, declaring the judgment “a victory that belongs to every ward mobilizer, every woman leader, every youth, and every grassroots stakeholder who refused to let injustice prevail.”

‎In a remarkable display of statesmanship, the validated chairman extended an olive branch to his main challenger, Mr. Shehu Yohana, and his supporters.

‎“I hold Mr. Shehu Yohana in high esteem in my heart. Disagreements are part of politics. But this ruling has shown that when a tenure expires, it expires. When there is no congress, there is no substantive claim,” Komsiri stated, adding: “I extend my hand of peace to him, his EXCOs and supporters. Let there be no winners and no losers – only one strong ADC moving forward.”

‎Komsiri also expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Waziri Adamawa, whom he described as having shown “fatherly neutrality” and provided “immense guidance” throughout the crisis.

‎The ADC chairman declared the court verdict as marking “the end of confusion, internal distractions, and unnecessary division,” announcing an immediate shift towards reconciliation, rebuilding, and repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎“Let this ruling be the fuel that unites us. The storm is over. Justice has spoken. Now we rise – together, stronger than ever,” he declared.

‎He reassured the national leadership of the ADC under Senator David Mark, the Waziri Adamawa (Leader of the Coalition Alliance in Nigeria), and the people of Adamawa State that the party, now fully united and legitimate, “will not fail” in delivering on its promises.

‎With the legal cloud finally lifted, attention now turns to how fast the Adamawa ADC can heal its wounds and present a formidable front in the build-up to the next election cycle.

‎For now, one thing is clear: Saidu Komsiri remains firmly in the saddle, and the grassroots that stood by him have been vindicated.
