The Only Human Body Parts That Does Not Grow After Birth Untill Death

The human body changes continuously from birth to old age, with most organs and tissues growing or shrinking over time. However, there are a few unique parts of the body that remain the same size from the moment you are born until you die.

1. The Eyes
The human eyes are fully formed at birth.
While the surrounding structures (eyelids, eye sockets, and muscles) grow, the actual eyeball size changes very little after infancy.
This is why babies appear to have “big eyes” compared to the rest of their small face.

2. The Eardrum

The eardrum (tympanic membrane) is another part that does not grow once formed.

It remains the same size throughout life, which is why hearing sensitivity depends more on damage, infections, or aging than on size changes.

3. The Brain (After Early Childhood)

While not at birth, the brain reaches nearly full size by early childhood (around age 5–7).

After that, it does not continue to grow but instead undergoes changes in function and structure.

4. The Cornea

The cornea, the clear outer layer of the eye, also stays the same size throughout life.

It plays a critical role in focusing light and vision quality, and its fixed size is essential for stable vision.

In summary, the eyes (especially the cornea), the eardrum, and to a large extent the brain after early childhood are the only parts of the human body that do not keep growing once they are formed.
