Toyota sells about eight times more vehicles than Mazda around the world. So, it may not be surprising to see that Toyota's Highlander is one of the segment leaders in the three-row SUV space while Mazda's CX-90 plays some catch-up. However, beyond the normal consideration of seats, cargo space, and fuel economy, Mazda has managed to provide an unusually sophisticated hardware package to tempt shoppers. And crucially, it's also able to sell such an entry-level CX-90 for around $7,000 less than the least expensive Highlander.
