The JDM-Only Subaru Rex Crossover Is Getting AWD For The First Time

Subaru has steadily carved out an all-wheel-drive–shaped niche for itself in the North American market, offering four-wheel traction on even its humblest cars as early as 1975. And today, every modern Subaru except the drift-happy BRZ comes standard with all-wheel drive, one of the car's key benefits over some of its competitors. But overseas, the story is not always the same. For example, the automaker's entry-level crossover in its home market of Japan, the Subaru Rex, was limited to front-wheel drive for its first three years on the market. That has now changed.
