Terrorists who kidnapped 38 worshippers from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have demanded a total of 3.8 billion naira in ransom for all abductees.

According to Leadership, the abductors have begun contacting families of those seized during the Tuesday church service.

Recall Dockaysworld reported on the aftermath of the Kwara church attack which included calls for President Tinubu’s resignation.

A community leader and Olori Eta of Eruku, Chief Olusegun Olukotun, confirmed the development on Thursday, noting that four of his relatives are among the victims.

Olukotun, who said he was in the church with five family members when the attack occurred, explained that he and one ward escaped “around 6:06 p.m through the church’s window.”

He said the kidnappers have now reached out to residents “grouping the victims according to their relations and calling our people through each group.”

“Some people in the community have received calls from the kidnappers demanding N100m for each person but as regards my own people, I have not received any call concerning them, so I am still waiting,” he added.

Olukotun appealed for better equipment for local vigilantes, calling for “more sophisticated combat weapons that would match those of the kidnappers in case of armed attack.”
