  • Subaru announced two Series.Yellow special editions based on the BRZ and WRX tS.
  • Both feature Sunrise Yellow paint, matte black wheels, and a sporty two-tone interior.
  • Production is capped at 350 units each, with pricing details coming closer to launch.

Subaru WRX sales have fallen off a cliff, as they’re down 38.6 percent so far this year. That means consumers have only bought 7,499 performance sedans in the first eight months of 2025. However, there’s a bright spot on the horizon as Subaru will use Pennsylvania’s Boxerfest to introduce the 2026 WRX Series.Yellow, a special edition that will be joined by a matching BRZ variant.

Based on the WRX tS, the special edition features a Sunrise Yellow paint job as well as 19-inch matte black wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. The automaker highlighted the “exclusive color” and said it has been featured on the 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition as well as the Japan-only BRZ STI Sport and WRX STI S207.

Besides the sunny disposition, the special edition has Recaro front seats with yellow contrast stitching and yellow accents. They’re joined by matching flourishes on the door panels and dashboard. Speaking of which, the car also comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch infotainment system.

Motivation is provided by a turbocharged 2.4-liter Boxer engine that develops 271 hp (202 kW / 275 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed manual and a symmetrical all-wheel drive system. Other highlights include STI-tuned adjustable dampers and Brembo brakes.

A Coupe Joins In

If you’re in the market for something slightly less special, there’s the 2026 BRZ Series.Yellow. It echoes the Japanese BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition and Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited, with the latter closely resembling the 2026 GR86 Yuzu Edition, which is painted Yuzu Yellow.

Badge-engineered rabbit hole aside, the BRZ Series.Yellow has a Sunrise Yellow exterior with 18-inch matte black wheels. The latter are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires and backed up by Brembo brakes.

Buyers will also find a black interior with “exclusive” yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shifter, and parking brake boot. Of course, exclusive is a bit of a stretch as we’ve already seen this on the GR86 Yuzu Edition.

Performance Unchanged

On the performance front, the coupe retains the 2.4-liter four-cylinder pumping out 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS). It’s joined by a six-speed manual as well as STI-tuned Hitachi dampers.

Both special editions will be limited to 350 units, and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
