Sevilla terminate Kelechi Iheanacho’s contract

Spanish club Sevilla have officially parted ways with Nigerian forward, Kelechi Iheanacho after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract, which was originally set to run until June 30, 2026.Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla on a free transfer from Leicester City last summer, struggled to establish himself at the Ramn Snchez-Pizjun Stadium. He made 15 appearances across all competitions in the first half of the 2024/25 season, scoring three goals, before being loaned to Championship side Middlesbrough in January. During his spell in England, the 28-year-old registered one goal and two assists in 15 matches, but his performances were not enough to earn a return to Sevillas plans. He failed to make the matchday squad for the clubs opening three league games this season, signaling the end of his time in Spain. A club statement confirmed the departure:Sevilla FC and Kelechi Iheanacho have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of the Nigerian striker.
