  • San Francisco Police recently seized five vehicles that were involved in a street takeover in June.
  • Among the cars taken by authorities was a Corvette, Mustang GT, and Cadillac CTS-V.
  • The models will be held for 30 days and owners will be on the hook for storage fees.

The San Francisco Police Department has seized several vehicles that were involved in “multiple stunt-driving events that occurred simultaneously” on June 9 at around 2 a.m. local time. This appears to have been quite the morning as officers managed to prevent one event from getting started, but were too late to stop another.

That event took place at the intersection of Embarcadero and Washington Street, where a “caravan of vehicles converged” and started performing stunts. The department added that one of the vehicles was “purposely ignited and set on fire.”

That vehicle was presumably stolen, but it appears some people arrived in their own car. That was a dumb move for a handful of them as authorities “identified, located, and seized five vehicles” that were involved in the event. They’ll be impounded for 30 days and authorities said owners will be on the hook for storage as well as towing fees. Police added the investigation is ongoing, so they’re asking for the public’s help to catch those involved.

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said, “These illegal events are unacceptable in our city.” He went on to thank the “hard-working members of the San Francisco Police Department who put themselves in harm’s way when responding to these dangerous and unlawful gatherings.”

The department didn’t go into many specifics, but they released images showing a Ford Mustang GT, a Corvette C7, and a first-generation Cadillac CTS-V.
