Russia claims to have captured Pokrovsk

Russia has announced the capture of the strategically important Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, a development that unfolded as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with French President Emmanuel Macron to advance ongoing diplomatic efforts. The talks in Paris followed a round of discussions in Florida between Ukrainian and US negotiators, which both sides described as constructive, though the path to ending Russia’s invasion, and the extent of US expectations, remains uncertain.
