Rumors for the Day:

  • WWE is no longer listing Roman Reigns for SmackDown’s Sept. 13 debut on USA Network, and have removed him from the promotional image and the “Featured Superstars” list. He is still included in the rundown for the show on the venue’s site.
  • In her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone wrote that she was determined to return to WWE for WrestleMania 40 after a trip to SoFi Stadium. She changed her mind while attending last year’s All In at Wembley Stadium: “The fact that they got 80k rabid and passionate fans to attend an event that wasn’t Mania blew me away. It made me excited for wrestling in a way I had not felt in a long time.”
  • According to Fightful Select, Sting has told people close to him that he’ll be traveling to London for All In. It’s not clear if he’ll appear on camera or just visit backstage. The recently retired Icon was backstage at recent Collision tapings in Texas.
  • Speculation continues to swirl on social media about Ricky Starks leaving AEW and signing with WWE. Fightful Select could not confirm any of those rumors, but did say WWE has “significant interest” in bringing Starks to NXT “once he is available”.
  • AEW has talked “seriously” about a World title run for Darby Allin, per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It’s not clear when Allin might win AEW’s main belt, however.
  • The Hulk Hogan biopic has hit anotherglitch”, as director Todd Phillips told Variety that he’s moved on from the project.
