Rumor Roundup: CM Punk plans, WWE meeting, Asuka deal, Swerve contract, more!

Rumors for the Day:

• According to PW Insider, there have been discussions about doing a CM Punk vs. GUNTHER world heavyweight title match at Survivor Series.
• They also say a meeting was held before Raw this week where WWE management reminded talent not to curse on camera.
• Asuka recently re-signed with WWE, according to a PW Insider Elite report. No specifics, other than that the injured star’s new deal is a long-term one.
• Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp didn’t get a response from WWE officials when he reached out about a report the company views Swerve Strickland’s new AEW deal as “bad for the sport”. Sapp did talk to “over a dozen wrestlers across all top companies” and they were all in favor of Strickland getting paid.
• Per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE also thinks AEW’s offered Daniel Garcia a contract that’s “bad for the sport” as it’s worth more than what WWE believes Garcia’s market value to be.
• The WON also noted that when Kevin Owens’ contract was last up in 2021, AEW knew about but didn’t attempt to match WWE’s “big money” offer to Owens, which was reportedly between $2-3 million annually over three years.
• Victoria posted a video on Twitter/X announcing that she’s signed a Legends deal with WWE, which says are now called “nostalgic” contracts.
