Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 launched with a new 443cc engine, six-speed gearbox, and strengthened chassis for adventure touring.

Royal Enfield has officially launched the much-awaited Himalayan 440 in India, priced from ₹2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model marks a decade of the Himalayan legacy and stays true to its rugged adventure-touring DNA while introducing significant mechanical upgrades.

At the heart of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 lies a brand-new 443cc, single-cylinder, long-stroke engine producing 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering smoother highway cruising and improved low-speed usability. Royal Enfield highlights a broad torque curve, with 90% of peak torque available from just 2,800 rpm.

The chassis has been reinforced, with a stronger sub-frame capable of supporting up to 10 kg of top-box load. The bike retains its adventure-ready stance with a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke-wheel setup, 220mm ground clearance, and an 800mm seat height.

Braking has been upgraded with larger pads, a 300mm front disc, and a 240mm rear disc, supported by switchable dual-channel ABS. While the Himalayan 440 continues with tube-type tyres, it now features modern touches like an LED headlamp, digital-analogue instrument cluster, Tripper navigation, and USB Type-C charging.

Available in Sela Black, Mustang Brown, and Nelong White, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 also carries a special 10-year anniversary badge on initial units. Despite weighing 199 kg, Royal Enfield claims it feels similar to the outgoing Himalayan 411.
