Ronaldo leads Ballon d’Or fan vote for Greatest Winner of All Time

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is leading an official fan vote organised by France Football to determine the greatest winner in the history of the Ballon d’Or.

Voting began in early October, with fans invited to select their favourite from a list of 10 football legends who have won the prestigious individual award at least twice.

The organisers confirmed Ronaldo’s lead in a post on the Ballon d’Or’s official social media account.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is leading,” the post read.

“You can still vote for your B.O.A.T. and try to win 2 tickets to the 2027 ceremony!

“Choose your BALLON D’OR OF ALL TIME among the players who have won the award multiple times.”

Other nominees include Argentina captain Lionel Messi, French legend Michel Platini, former England international Kevin Keegan, Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario, Dutch great Marco van Basten and Johan Cruyff of the Netherlands.

The fan poll offers supporters an opportunity to choose the player they consider the greatest among the multiple-time Ballon d’Or winners.

Ronaldo has won the award five times, while Messi holds the record with eight titles.

The competition also gives participants the chance to win two tickets to the 2027 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
