Even though post-WrestleMania cuts aren’t unusual, the ones WWE made yesterday (April 24) seem to have hit the wrestling world harder than most years for some reason.

There are probably a litany of reasons, one being that regardless of your profession this is a rough time to suddenly find yourself unemployed. Within the wrestling business just as anywhere else, the job market is rough and might not get better for a while.

Who knows if that factored into these messages from the still-employed to their departing colleagues and friends, or if it’s just a reason I’m feeling even more empathetic towards the released talent than ever before. Take it as context for the posts that started showing up online last night after SmackDown.

WWE Women’s champion Rhea Ripley sent something to everyone who got a call Friday, and ended on a motivational note:
