A Muslim cleric has gone viral after making a bold claim about a Qur’anic verse that can allegedly stop a thief during a car chase.

In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the cleric stated that if someone is being chased by a thief in a vehicle, there is a specific verse in the Qur’an that can be recited for divine intervention.

According to him, reciting the verse would cause Allah to “transfer the fuel” from the thief’s car into the victim’s car, leaving the attacker stranded.

In his words, he said:

“If a thief is chasing you in a car, there is a verse in the Qur’an that, if you recite it, Allah will transfer the fuel from the thief’s car to yours until their fuel finishes, and they won’t be able to chase you anymore.”

The statement has since generated heated debate online, with many questioning the interpretation, while others defended the cleric, insisting that spiritual protection is part of faith.

Some social media users reacted with mixed opinions. One commentator wrote, “Faith is powerful, but let’s not mislead people.” Another added, “Abeg make una still lock your doors and buy fuel.”

While some believers argued that nothing is impossible with God, critics warned against spreading messages that could create a false sense of security, especially in matters involving safety and crime prevention.
