Raw’s numbers up big for SummerSlam fallout despite airing on SyFy

WWE.com WWE Raw’s numbers took a tumble during the show’s first week on SyFy opposite the Summer Olympics. But that wasn’t the SummerSlam fallout episode, which was what was on the schedule for Aug. 5 — its second week on SyFy opposite the Summer Olympics. According to PWTorch, this week’s Raw averaged an hourly audience of 1,724,000 and .62 rating among 18-49 year olds. That’s a 22% week-to-week improvement in overall viewers, and in the demo. It’s also on par with the numbers Raw’s been posting all summer long when it airs on its usual home, USA Network. Information is limited on how well the Olympics and other Monday night programs fared, but Wrestling Observer reports “Syfy was the No. 1 rated cable network last night, beating USA with the Olympics”. The Observer’s Dave Meltzer also speculates that the Aug. 5 Raw “likely would have topped two million viewers on USA and without Olympic competition and done a 0.70 in 18-49.” The Olympics will be a wrap by next

The Olympics will be a wrap by next Monday, so Raw will be back on USA as the build to Bash in Berlin continues. We’ll see if the post-SummerSlam buzz will carry over for another week.

In the meantime, here’s a rundown of the past year’s worth of numbers for Raw:

* Pre-recorded “Best of” show
** Aired on SyFy
