The current economic hardship in Nigeria has taken a great toll on the country’s citizens, as prices of food, fuel and other materials needed for the day-to-day survival in the country has inflated greatly. It has pushed Nigerians to schedule the 1st of August, 2024 for a nationwide protest against the current state of things in the country.

In an exclusive interview with Arise Television on Tuesday, 30th of July, 2024, a former Special Adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election, Dan Ulasi claimed that this is the first time Nigerians are serious about being hungry, even though hunger is a universal problem.

Dan Ulasi admitted that the reasons for the August 1st nationwide protest are genuine and should be not be suppressed, as the leader of the present government, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also a chief protester in past administrations.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain also added that if the present government channelled ten percent of their efforts in ensuring the protest does not hold, into bettering the state of affairs in the country, Nigerians would not have had a reason to protest in the first place….Seē _ Morē
