President Bola Tinubu, the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria have described the late evangelist Uma Ukpai as a unique servant of God who lived for God and humanity

in different press statements, they eulogised the late icon while recalling the great impact he made while on this side of eternity..

Tinubu in a statement said the late evangelist was not just another preacher;. “He was an anointed crusader of the faith, filled with fire and ice for the gospel and restoring humanity to discipline, love, and good neighbourliness’

While recalling his evangelical outreaches, he said “Ukpai brought the fervour of revival sweeping across Nigeria and parts of Africa in the 1980s. He was a firebrand.”

The president recalled his impact on humanity and his efforts at unifying the church of God saying, “Dr Ukpai has fulfilled his divine mission and has gone to be with the Lord. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith”

He urged the Church to find solace in the great legacy he left behind while commiserating with his family, especially his wife, Pastor Philomena Uma Ukpai, and his children, as well as members of his ministry.

in a statement signed by the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the Christian body described Dr Ukpai as a towering figure in the Church in Nigeria adding that his unwavering commitment to the work of God and his passion for the salvation of souls left an enduring mark on the Christian community in Nigeria and beyond. “Generations of believers have been inspired by his message of faith, healing, and hope in Christ Jesus.” cAN stated..

CAN prayed that “God will comfort the family and grant them the strength to bear this great loss. May the legacy of his faith and service continue to inspire the Church and the nation”

in his tribute the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Bishop Wale Oke on behalf of the fellowship said
“Pa Uma Ukpai was not only one of the founding voices of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria but also a father in the faith, a trailblazing evangelist, and a unifying force in the Body of Christ. His tireless labour in soul-winning, revival crusades, and interdenominational harmony remains an eternal legacy.”

Oke.said “in honour of his impactful life and Kingdom exploits, the forthcoming PFN @ 40 Thanksgiving and Celebrations shall be officially dedicated to his memory, as a national thanksgiving unto God for the gift he was to our generation”

The PFN extends heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the entire Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, and the global Christian community while praying that the holy spirit will comfort all that are connected to the late evangelist.
