The president of Tanzania, Sammie Suluhu Hassan, has cancelled the 61st Independence Day celebration scheduled to hold this Friday.

The independence celebration which was to cost $445,000 from the 2022 budget but was diverted to the building of dormitories for children with special needs around the country.

It makes no sense celebrating poverty. May God bless you madam for having the people at heart.
