“Please don’t donate” – Kwesi Arthur distances himself from GoFundMe set up by Kwaw Kese

Ghanaian musician Kwaw Kese has launched a GoFundMe campaign in support of rapper Kwesi Arthur amid an ongoing dispute with his former record label.

The label is reportedly demanding $150,000 from the rapper for the use of his own images on an independent project, while also claiming ownership of his music, image, and related rights dating back to 2016.

Sharing the fundraising link on social media, Kwaw Kese appealed for public support, writing: “We need 150k people to donate 1$. Let’s do it this for Kwesi Arthur… Please share, support, or donate every small action counts.”

However, Kwesi Arthur quickly distanced himself from the initiative, making it clear that he had no involvement with the fundraiser. “Please don’t donate to this. I have no affiliation to it,” he stated, calling for the account to be taken down.

Despite the rapper’s public disclaimer, the GoFundMe page remains active as of the time of this report. The fundraiser has so far received $170 toward a stated target of $12,000, prompting backlash from netizens who have urged Kwaw Kese to remove the account following Kwesi Arthur’s rejection of the effort.
