Pain disappears and the immobile walk because “the power of God is present to heal”: Rev Dr Suzette Hattingh at HEALSG 2025

For six months, he suffered a pain in his lower back and spine that made movement difficult.

But last night (Saturday, September 6), the young man obeyed Rev Dr Suzette Hattingh’s words to exercise and move around, and found that the pain had left him. He was now able to stretch his back without pain.

He was among the thousands that turned up last night at Arena@EXPO in anticipation of a divine encounter with the King of Kings – Jesus Christ, “the Lord that Healeth” – during the opening night of national evangelistic and miracle rally HEALSG 2025.

Attendees included visitors from Brunei, Australia and Indonesia who had come specially for the event, and contingents from 15 local churches.

“The power of God is present to heal” (from Luke 5:17-20) was the faith-fuelled declaration pronounced repeatedly during the night as South Africa-born evangelist Rev Dr Suzette Hattingh gave a powerful message and led the crowd into a time of prayer and ministry.

“Your name is power, your name is healing”

Pastor Derek Anthony from Lighthouse Evangelism, the organising church, welcomed all, calling the evening a “divine appointment” with the One who “heals, restores, saves, and sets people free”.

“Let’s worship with expectation,” he urged.

The worship team led the people in raising a Hallelujah to the Lord, ushering the presence of God into the auditorium.

The worship team ushered the crowd into an electrifying time of praise, beginning with “Battle Belongs”, followed by songs like “His Name Is Jesus,” and “I Speak Jesus” – declarations of God’s power and presence.

Senior Pastor Pacer Tan of Lighthouse Evangelism welcomed everyone to this second edition of HEALSG. Following the inaugural edition of the rally in 2023, where the church premises were overflowing, the decision was made to hold this year’s rally at a venue that could accommodate more people.

Pastor Pacer Tan

“We want HEALSG to grow into a national movement,” said Pastor Pacer. “Who knows? In two years, we might be holding this at the National Stadium.”

He told the crowd: “People need the Lord, we want to encounter the divine, we want to experience the supernatural entity we call God,”

He asked all to stand, and to “lift up both hands like you would at the stadium watching your favourite soccer team or a concert”.

Senior Pastor Pacer invite those gathered: “As you sing and chew on the words, you are going to sense a clear, distinct touch come upon you.”

“We want you to expect a touch from heaven,” he said.

As the worship team led with “I Am the Lord that Healeth Thee”, Ps Pacer told the audience: “As you sing and chew on the words, you are going to sense a clear, distinct touch come upon you.”

Meet the God of the possible

When Rev Dr Suzette Hattingh took the stage, she asked for the worship team to also come and play a song they had played earlier, “In Jesus Name (God of Possible)”. She called it a “prayer by song” after hearing it for the first time.

The lyrics: ”I speak the name of Jesus over you … I pray for your healing / That circumstances would change / I pray that the fear inside would flee in Jesus’ name …” spoke directly to the audience.

Rev Suzette declared: “As you reach out to Jesus Christ tonight, your breakthrough may happen even before the preaching starts.

She told the audience that she had first visited Singapore in 1987, during German-born evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s first visit to Singapore.

(From 1980 to 1996, Rev Suzette was part of Reinhard Bonnke’s ministry Christ for All Nations, heading the intercessory department. Subsequently, she co-founded Voice in the City and later founded Cinta Papua (Love Papua Centre) in Manokwari Papua, Indonesia.)

She then shared a true story of two women on the flight to Medan, Indonesia for a conference in 1995.

“One woman was very sick, with something like cancer. Doctors didn’t know exactly what it was, and told her she doesn’t have too long to live.

“She was expecting to die in Indonesia, and had already arranged her funeral.”

She was taken off the plane in a wheelchair and taken to her hotel, where “she didn’t have the strength to get out of her bed to pray, so she rolled out of bed and lay on her face”.

“In desperation, she cried out, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’”

Her screams could be heard down the hall.

The younger woman ran to her room, and offered to preach on her behalf that night.

But the sick older woman was adamant: “No, if this is my last sermon tonight, God is going to help me. I am entering heaven preaching the Gospel.

“They took her to the meeting. There was 6,000 people there. The woman couldn’t stand on her feet – she was hanging over the stone pulpit.

“People were worshipping God and singing.

“Suddenly people started screaming and shouting. Things were going wild. Some were crying, some were running, some were throwing wheelchairs and walking sticks in the air.

An intercessor prays for a member of the audience at HEALSG 2025.

“The woman hanging over the pulpit didn’t speak the language of the people and asked her interpreter: ‘What is going on?’

“Her interpreter pointed to something in the hall – it looked like a cloud, like a fog. As it was rolling, people were screaming. The presence of God was present to heal the people.

“There were mass miracles everywhere. Nobody prayed for them, nobody touched them,” she said.

“That woman hanging over the pulpit … was me,” Rev Suzette revealed to gasps from the audience.

(She added that even Reinhard Bonnke had said before she left for Indonesia, “I see the angel of death. She will not come back.” Rev Suzette took it as a sign to arrange her own funeral. Yet she kept her commitment to speak at the conference because “I promised God, and I promised the people in Medan that I would do that conference even if it were my last, because I truly honour my word.”)

Then, at the conference, a Pastor came up and said, “Rev Suzette, God is healing the people.”

At that point Rev Suzette realised: “My pain is gone! Because the power of God is present to heal.

“Will you clap for Jesus the healer?” Rev Suzette urged the audience. And she led the those gathered to shout: “And the power of God is present to heal.”

“And I told Satan, ‘For as long as I live, I will terrorise you’.”

The year was 1995.

“God healed me miraculously. God healed me instantly until today.”

That was the beginning of her mandate to heal in Jesus’ name.

“Jesus is not just going to heal headaches”

“Jesus is not just going to heal a few aches and pains,” Rev Suzette declared to those gathered last night.

“He can heal you everywhere: Soul, broken hearts, relationships … I expect God to restore families, marriages, relationships between fathers and sons, mothers and daughters.

“I expect God to be the source of miraculous wherever you might need it.

“We don’t come to Jesus just for a better life – we come because He paid for our lives on the Cross. So that we are saved from eternal hell, and can spend eternity with Him.”

“Every accusation that Satan holds against you has been nailed on the cross,” said Rev Suzette.

“The true purpose of your healing, as it says in 1 John 3:8 is: ‘For this purpose the Son of God was manifest, that He might destroy the works of the devil.'”

“Do you need to change your life?”

Rev Suzette then called those who had lost their fire, or who were living in compromise, to come out to the front.

As the band played “Lord, I Offer My Life”, so many streamed forward that the aisles near the front of the stage were packed. It was an emotional moment, with many clearly touched, and most in tears.

“I’m sorry if this is emotional. I wish I could hug you. We are so proud of you,” she told them.

Praying a prayer of surrender.

Rev Suzette invited all to pray: “Change my life tonight. Save me. Spirit, soul, body. I give You my life afresh. Write my name in Your book. Wash me clean. In Jesus’ name, I receive it.”

“You are the VIPs tonight. We honour your courage for saying, ‘Jesus, I need You.’

“Break every bondage,” she prayed. “I break the power of depression, sickness and addiction in Jesus’ name.”

“God is going to do a mass miracle tonight”

Throughout the night, Rev Suzette, led by the Holy Spirit, spoke words of knowledge of those in the crowd who were being healed.

This man who had been in a wheelchair for six months walked onto the stage. “And I haven’t even prayed for the sick yet,” Rev Suzette said in awe.

During the mass healing, she called out conditions such as kidney problems, heart problems, prostate gland issues.

“I command the spirt of infirmity to leave my body. I receive my miracle, now! In Jesus’ name! I receive the power of the blood in Jesus’ name.

“I rebuke the infection. I speak miracle to that heart problem. To the man with angina, God has healed you in Jesus’ name now.”

She also led the crowd in what looked like a mass exercise, encouraging them to bend down and up, to move arms, and swivel their torsos.

“You won’t know you’re healed unless you move,” she said.

Testing, testing: This attendee was freed from pain after suffering from heel spurs for months.

This woman who had suffered from a stroke 10 years ago walked freely last night.

Rev Suzette reminded those with internal conditions to seek medical confirmation: “I cannot test you or your kidneys or liver. So I cannot prove if you are healed. Go back to your doctor and have it documented.”

As the service drew to an end, Rev Suzette said: “I have a burden for a child with leukemia. Let’s pray for your miracle.” She invited those with terminal diseases, cancer, leukemia, tumours to go to the side of the hall where she could pray for them.

“I have seen Jesus heal the impossible,” she said. In her 48 years of serving God, Rev Suzette noticed that healing comes in waves. Some healings are instant, others come the next morning, the next day or the next week.

About HEALSG

HEALSG was first launched in October 2023. Open to the public, more than 8,400 people gathered over two nights of the rally, many of whom experienced healing and renewal in their lives.

HEALSG has since grown into a movement of prayer, healing and unity – an affirmation that God’s healing power remains just as relevant today as it was during biblical times.

About the organiser

HEALSG 2025 is organised by Lighthouse Evangelism, a church established in 1978 with a vision to be the light of Christ everywhere. Over the decades, Lighthouse Evangelism has centred its mission on evangelism and healing, shaping a ministry that impacts both the church and the wider community.

Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Pacer Tan, who took on the role in 2018, Lighthouse Evangelism continues to build on its founding vision by providing opportunities for people to experience God’s presence and power. The church is committed to equipping believers, serving the community, and sharing the Gospel both locally and globally.

Lighthouse Evangelism serves as the host for HEALSG 2025, bringing together churches, pastors, believers and non-believers to unite in faith for a national rally of healing, hope and renewal.
