Ojukwu Emerges NDC Consensus Candidate for Amac/Bwari Federal Constituency

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has adopted Hon. Dr. Ojukwu Nzubechukwu Ojukwu as its consensus candidate for the Amac/Bwari Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming general election, following a unanimous agreement reached by all aspirants who sought the party’s ticket.

The development was disclosed by a co-aspirant, who pleaded anonymity, and confirmed that the decision followed extensive consultations and deliberations among all contenders for the party’s ticket. According to him, the aspirants collectively agreed to set aside individual ambitions in the interest of party unity, cohesion, and electoral success.

He said the consensus was anchored on the shared belief that Dr. Ojukwu possesses the experience, capacity, and broad acceptability required to secure victory for the party in the constituency.

The co-aspirant noted that the decision reflects maturity and sacrifice among members of the party, adding that all aspirants have committed themselves to working for the success of the NDC at the polls.

He also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party, particularly the presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the national leader, Seriake Dickson, for endorsing the consensus arrangement.

The aspirants further pledged to mobilize support across the constituency and pursue all lawful means to ensure electoral victory, stressing that their collective mission is to advance a people-oriented agenda and contribute to the broader goal of national renewal.

Dr. Ojukwu, an economist, entrepreneur, real estate investor, and politician, is widely known as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Davonch Group of Companies, a diversified conglomerate with interests in real estate, investment, and other commercial ventures.

Born in Anambra State, he has built a reputation in the private sector through strategic investments and business development initiatives focused on economic growth, job creation, and wealth creation. His academic background in economics has shaped his advocacy for investment-driven development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic transformation.

As the head of the Davonch Group, he has overseen investments in real estate and related sectors, contributing to job creation and enterprise development. He is widely regarded as a business leader committed to innovation, youth empowerment, and economic expansion.

His entry into politics dates back to 2017, when he emerged as the governorship candidate of the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in the Anambra State governorship election. During his campaign, he advocated industrialization, poverty reduction, infrastructure development, job creation, and economic revitalization.

Among his key proposals was the establishment of an Anambra Trust Fund aimed at addressing poverty, supporting vulnerable groups, and promoting inclusive development across communities. He also emphasized increased investment in education, skills acquisition, and small business development as pathways to sustainable economic growth.

Throughout his engagements, Dr. Ojukwu has consistently maintained that sustainable development depends on a balance between strong governance, private-sector participation, infrastructure expansion, and human capital development. He has argued that government must create an enabling environment for businesses while ensuring that economic progress translates into improved living standards for citizens.

The co-aspirant further reaffirmed that all aspirants remain fully united behind the consensus candidate and are committed to delivering victory for the NDC in the forthcoming election.

Political observers note that Dr. Ojukwu’s emergence as the consensus candidate reflects a strategic move by the party to consolidate support
