Odumodublvck reveals he once performed for bottle of beer

Buzzing Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, has opened up on the most uncommon form of payment he received in the early stages of his music career.

The Hip Hop artiste said he was booked for a show in 2017 and the organiser paid him after his performance with a bottle of beer.

Odumodublvck made the revelation on the Zero Conditions podcast, as he recalled that his close friend and colleague, Reeplay was with him.

The ‘Picanto’ crooner revealed that it was not the originally agreed amount to be paid, but the organiser liked their performance and decided to reward them with the beer.

The rapper said; “I once was performed for a bottle of Hero beer. Me and Reeplay went to the show. We went in his black Amera car. He sold the car for N120,000. The car knocked on the road. When he came back, the car was bashed so we sold it for scrap.

“The bottles of beer that were given to us weren’t even the planned payment. The owner gave it to us out of his generosity and also because he said our performance was great. This happened in 2017.”

Legendary Nigerian actor, Pete Edochie, has revealed the amount he was paid for his first movie role decades ago.

Speaking in an interview with media personality, Chide Jideonwo, Edochie said a filmmaker offered him N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) to be cast in a movie.

He said someone came to his house with a cheque when he had just lost his broadcast job and the paycheck encouraged him to abandon broadcasting for acting.

According to the Nollywood veteran, the acting gig and paycheck came at the right time, as he had just lost his broadcasting job due to religious differences and internal issues.

“I was sitting there with her in the parlour when somebody from Lagos came to give me a check for fifty thousand to make a film,” he said.

Edochie said he talked to his wife and she encouraged him to embrace acting as a new career path since his job a director had ended.

The actor shared; “I told my wife my work was over. She hugged me, bought me a bottle of beer, and said, ‘Pete, you’ve always wanted to be an actor; the time has come.’ At that time, my salary as the director was N9000 per month.”
