NXT parking lot strikes again, sets up Ethan Page title defense for Deadline

The most dangerous place in wrestling strikes again. The parking lot outside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando where NXT (and now Evolve) is filmed has been the site of brawls, assaults, and kidnappings, and more incidents of property damage than we can count. Last night (Dec. 2), greatest North American Ethan Page was carjacked by AAA’s Mr. Iguana and his popular puppet La Yesca.

As NXT parking lot crimes usually do, it led to a match. This one conveniently happened just as Page was relishing the fact he wasn’t booked for Deadline, NXT’s premium live event in San Antonio, Texas this Saturday (Dec. 6). Page will now be defending his Men’s North American title at that show against the man with whom he and Chelsea Green have been feuding with over AAA’s Mixed Tag titles.

Shout out to NXT General Manager Ava, who really shows some personality in this scene as she continues to develop her on-screen skills:

The go home edition of NXT also officially added a women’s division grudge match to the card for NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels’ hometown this weekend, as Tatum Paxley will take on the former friend that betrayed her to help Jacy Jayne reclaim the NXT Women’s title.

It was also revealed that Oba Femi vs. Ricky Saints II for Saints’ NXT Men’s championship would open the PLE. Last night also saw Myles Borne win the right to enter the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge from any position he wants on Saturday. Entering early would seem to be the smart play, since the winner of the Challenge is the entrant with the most pinfalls or submissions.

Here’s a look at the card for NXT’s last event of the year!

  • Myles Borne vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Leon Slater in an Iron Survivor Challenge for an NXT Men’s Title shot
  • Kendal Grey vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Sol Ruca vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice in an Iron Survivor Challenge for an NXT Women’s Title shot
  • Ricky Saints (c) vs. Oba Femi for the NXT Men’s championship
  • Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame
  • Ethan Page (c) vs. Mr. Iguana for the NXT Men’s North American championship
