Nwabali, Bamayi nominated for 2025 CAF Awards

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been nominated for the 2025 CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The nomination was announced on Wednesday via CAF’s official X handle. Nwabali’s consistent performances for both club and country have earned him a place among Africa’s top shot-stoppers this year.

Also nominated is Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bamayi, who made the shortlist for the Young Player of the Year category.

Bamayi led Nigeria’s U-20 side to the round of 16 at the recently concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, scoring twice, both from the penalty spot, against Saudi Arabia and Colombia.

The CAF Awards ceremony will recognize outstanding African players and teams across multiple categories later this year.
