Internet personality and music executive Teebillz has joined the ongoing conversation surrounding the 2026 Grammy Awards, offering a fresh perspective that shifts focus away from trophies and onto impact.

Amid complaints and debates over Nigerian artists leaving the ceremony without a win, Teebillz pointed out that Nigerians still made a massive impression in Los Angeles throughout the

Grammy weekend. According to him, the presence of Nigerian artists, creatives, and fans significantly boosted the local economy—from fully booked hotels and busy restaurants to private jet parking, luxury Uber rides, rental cars, shopping sprees, and payments to stylists, glam teams, and other support crews.

Teebillz reminded critics that the Grammys are organised by a private institution, not the general public, and that awards are not determined by streaming numbers, popularity, or social media hype.
“A Grammy win simply means a group of people decided a work deserved it,” he said, stressing that the process is subjective and often misunderstood.

He also addressed the heated reactions online, noting that it’s possible to celebrate Nigerian excellence while still critiquing the system. According to Teebillz, appreciation and criticism do not have to cancel each other out—and neither should come with bitterness.
