Nigeria Making Strides In Security, Economic Growth – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has asserted that Nigeria’s security agencies are making significant progress in tackling terrorism, banditry, and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The president made this statement on Wednesday, during his nationwide Independence Day address marking Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.

Speaking to Nigerians, Tinubu said, “The officers and men of our armed forces and other security agencies are working tirelessly and making significant sacrifices to keep us safe. They are winning the war against terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes.

“We see their victories in their blood and sweat to stamp out Boko Haram terror in the North-East, IPOB/ESN terror in the South-East, and banditry and kidnapping.”

He added that peace has returned to previously affected regions.

“Peace has returned to hundreds of our liberated communities in North-West and North-East, and thousands of our people have returned safely to their homes,” Tinubu said, emphasizing the progress made by security forces in ensuring stability across the country.

The president also highlighted the role of collaboration between security agencies and local communities.

“Our citizens must continue to cooperate with security personnel.

“Intelligence from communities has been crucial in preempting attacks and dismantling criminal networks,” he noted.

On economic recovery and resilience, Tinubu stated, “Our security efforts are directly tied to economic growth.

“When people feel safe, businesses thrive, and development follows. We must ensure that security and prosperity go hand in hand.”

He urged all Nigerians to remain vigilant and supportive of government efforts, adding, “We celebrate our independence with gratitude, but also with the resolve that no one will take our peace and progress for granted.

“Let us stand united against forces that seek to destabilize our beloved nation.”
