NEMA Distributes Relief Materials To Flood Victims In Enugu

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to households affected by flooding in communities across Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency of Enugu State.

The agency disclosed this on Wednesday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, noting that the distribution exercise was carried out on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, by the Enugu Operations Office of NEMA.

Speaking during the exercise, the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, in a message delivered through the Head of Operations, Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu, and represented by Mrs. Shantel Chukwu, expressed sympathy with the affected households.

She urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the relief materials and stressed the need for communities to adopt proactive measures to reduce the impact of future disasters.

Mrs. Umar also reassured the communities of NEMA’s commitment to timely and effective disaster response across the country.

In his remarks, the Member representing Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Sunday Cyriacus Umeha, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prince Obinna Ozoejike, commended the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the Director-General of NEMA for the prompt intervention.

He described the support as timely and impactful, noting that it would help alleviate the hardship faced by affected households.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and NEMA for the swift humanitarian response, and described the intervention as a source of relief and encouragement.
