The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has announced the third edition of its Business and Investment Forum in Guangzhou, China, as part of efforts to attract sustainable foreign direct investment and support the federal government’s $1 trillion economy goal by 2030.

The forum will be held on the sidelines of the 140th Canton Fair, one of the world’s largest trade exhibitions.

NACCIMA said the event is designed to strategically connect Nigeria with leading Chinese investors, manufacturers, industrialists and business executives across key sectors.

The announcement was made by national public relations officer, NACCIMA, Madinat Adigun-Oladotun, who said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adigun-Oladotun stressed that Nigeria must move beyond being a consumer market and position itself as a destination for investment, manufacturing, value addition and industrial development.

“Nigeria has the population, natural resources, entrepreneurial spirit and strategic location to serve as the gateway to the African market. To become an economic powerhouse, we must deliberately accelerate industrialisation by prioritising local manufacturing, innovation, value-added processing and reducing our dependence on imports,” she said.

She noted that achieving this vision will require strategic investments, improved infrastructure, access to finance, advanced technology and strong international partnerships.

NACCIMA established the Business and Investment Forum in Guangzhou to build lasting bridges with credible Chinese investors committed to mutually beneficial partnerships.

Reflecting on the previous two editions, the National PRO said the initiative has laid a solid foundation for long-term collaboration with members of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) Guangzhou, with support from the Consul General of Nigeria in Guangzhou, Ambassador Mairo Musa Abbas.

“The collaboration is already facilitating investment opportunities in critical sectors including automobile and electric vehicle manufacturing, agribusiness, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and industrial park development,” she stated.

Adigun-Oladotun called on federal, state and local government stakeholders, as well as private sector leaders, to join the trade mission and leverage the platform to attract quality investments, promote technology transfer, strengthen local manufacturing and create sustainable employment.

She urged state governments to showcase their investment potential and register for the forum, describing it as a unique opportunity to engage directly with credible Chinese investors and secure partnerships aligned with their comparative economic advantages.

Describing Guangzhou as one of the world’s leading commercial and manufacturing centres and home to the globally renowned Canton Fair, she encouraged Nigerian businesses to join the mission.

“We are confident that this initiative will foster strategic partnerships capable of shaping Nigeria’s economic future and accelerating the country’s industrial transformation,” she added.
