Mustafa Ali beats Mike Bailey in less than one minute on TNA Impact

Mustafa Ali is scheduled to defend the X-Division Championship against Mike Bailey at TNA Slammiversary on July 20, but Speedball demanded a fight on Thursday night Impact (July 18, 2024). The result was Ali winning in under one minute, but the story is not as clean as that.

Bailey commandeered the ring and refused to leave until putting hands on Ali. Bailey was irate about Ali ruthlessly injuring his pal, Trent Seven. Ali chimed in on the big screen to offer a deal. He was flanked by four secret service agents, two goons wearing riot gear helmets shielding their faces, and Campaign Singh. If Bailey can win a gauntlet match against Ali’s secret service security guards, then Ali will grant Bailey’s wish.

Bailey used his unique set of skills to mow down the secret service one by one. Speedball earned four quick wins.

The gauntlet didn’t end there. Next up was Singh. Bailey didn’t have much trouble with him either. He connected on the Ultima Weapon flipping knee drop to pin Singh. Bailey wanted his reward and waited for Ali to appear. The riot goons entered to secure the premises. Boom! Bailey was struck from behind with a club. Ali revealed he was in disguise in riot gear. He forced the referee to count the pin to beat Bailey unofficially in less than one minute.

Backstage, Ali gloated about the victory. In his mind, that pin was enough justification to cancel the PPV match. Not so fast. Deputy of Authority Santino Marella stepped in to restore order. The title bout is still on, and Ali will be stripped of the gold and fired if he doesn’t show up.
