Mourner Shot Dead While Leaving Funeral of Murdered Footballer

A tragic incident has unfolded in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where a female mourner was shot dead while leaving the funeral of a murdered footballer.

The victim, identified as Karen Grunauer Franco, was reportedly gunned down on December 20 as she was departing the funeral ceremony with her partner. According to reports, Karen was inside a vehicle when armed men suddenly blocked her path with another car and opened fire, spraying her vehicle with multiple bullets.

During the attack, the driver attempted to escape and managed to reach a nearby police station. He sustained injuries during the incident and was later taken to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, Karen was found lying lifeless on the road with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting occurred shortly after Karen attended the funeral of Mario Pineida, a professional footballer who was murdered just days earlier. Pineida, a fullback who played for Barcelona de Guayaquil and the Ecuador national team, was killed on December 17 at the age of 33.

Reports also revealed that Pineida was murdered alongside his partner, Guisella Fernández Ramírez.
