Moment Chief Adebutu ‘Baba Ijebu’ Arrived In Style At The Palace Of Oba Of Lagos In Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

Moment Chief Adebutu ‘Baba Ijebu’ arrived in style at the Oba of Lagos Palace in Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (S580). 

His Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is fitted with a customized “Odole 1” number plate – a tribute to his Odole Oodua chieftaincy title.

The title was conferred on him 7 years ago on October 19th 2019 by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II).

Designed for supreme comfort, his Maybach S-Class (S580) is finished in two-tone color that combines glossy Obsidian Black with sand hue.

Nigerian business tycoon, Chief Kessington Adebunkunola Adebutu, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, was in attendance at the chieftaincy title conferment ceremony held at the Oba of Lagos palace on Saturday January 24th 2026.

At the well-attended event, notable Lagosians, including Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, the Lagos State APC Women Leader, were honored by His Royal Majesty for their outstanding contributions to the State.

Chief Adebutu, who turned 90 last October, is the owner and founder of the Premier Lotto Limited (PLL) popularly known as Baba Ijebu. His lotto company is reportedly the biggest in Nigeria

In addition, this Mercedes-Maybach S-Class rides on huge 24-inch wheels and distinguish itself from the standard S-Class with its Maybach-grille, Maybach logos and the Mercedes star on the hood.

Inside, it offers significantly more rear legroom than the standard S-Class for a first-class travel, with features like massaging seats, bespoke 30-speaker Burmester audio system plus optionals like refrigerated compartments.

Powering the Mercedes-Maybach S580 model is a 496-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, allowing it to accelerate to 60 mph from rest in approximately 4.1 to 4.7 second and an limited top-speed of 155mph (250km/h)
