Mercedes Moné has to defend the TBS title against former world champion at AEW All Out

The main event of tonight’s (Aug. 31) episode of Collision was a four-way women’s match featuring Queen Aminata, Serena Deeb, Hikaru Shida, and Thunder Rosa. The winner of the match would earn a TBS championship match against Mercedes Moné at next Saturday’s (Sept. 7) All Out pay-per-view in Chicago.

Shida and Rosa stood out as the favorites here given their history as former AEW women’s world champions. In fact, Deeb and Aminata briefly agreed to work together to try taking them out. Of course that alliance didn’t last very long. Rosa took a a really nasty bump on her neck late in the match, clearing the way for Shida to hit her finisher on Queen for the win.

For what it’s worth, Mercedes already retained the TBS title by beating Shida (with an assist from Kamille) a couple weeks ago on Dynamite. Shida has since taken on a harder edge and said she will prove why she is the ace of the AEW women’s division. She’ll have a chance to deliver on those words next Saturday on pay-per-view if she can become the first woman in AEW to beat The CEO.
