Meet Gideon Moi’s Only Daughter, Lulu, and Why He Isn’t Ready to Let her Marry

Having been born into the family of Kenya’s second President, former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is among the few leaders who grew up in State House.

Although a public figure with all eyes on him from a young age, Gideon has kept his family as private as possible.

For instance, his three children all lead low-key lifestyles, unlike the children of other popular Kenyan politicians who are often in the public eye. One of Gideon Moi’s children, his daughter Lulu, stays off social media and rarely attends public events.

As the only daughter in the family, Lulu Moi is clearly the apple of the family’s eye, and Gideon Moi recently demonstrated his love for her at a special event.

The former Senator has also indicated that he isn’t ready to let his daughter get married, and Times Digital Kenya takes a look at why, along with a few other details about her.

Born to Gideon Moi and Zahra Moi, Lulu is one of three children of the couple, with two brothers: Kigena and Kimoi.

Lulu’s older brother, Kimoi, recently made headlines after a private wedding to Ivy Meli in May 2025 at Ol Tukai Lodge, Amboseli.

Her other brother, Kigen Moi, is known for being an avid polo player. Of the three siblings, Lulu Moi is very close to the family as the only daughter.

Unlike her grandfather, Daniel Arap Moi, and her father, she has not taken the political path but has instead maintained a private life.

Similarly, Lulu Moi is not highly active or publicly visible on social media. She leads a low-key lifestyle, consistent with the family’s “classy but quiet” image.

Why her Father isn’t ready to let her get married

While attending the wedding of former CS Charles Keter’s daughter, Tracy Keter, on April 3, Gideon Moi explained why he is not ready to see his daughter get married.

Speaking during the event, Gideon jokingly said that it is always hard for fathers to give away their daughters in marriage.

Regarding his daughter, Lulu Moi, the former Baringo Senator stated that it will be difficult for him to let her get married in the near future.

He explained that the main reason is that his daughter is very important to him and takes good care of him.

“I have one, Lulu, and in fact, I will not accept her to get married, because she is the one who takes care of me. You know, the wife is very tough; she will finish me,” Gideon said.
