Marrying a White Man Does Not Guarantee Wealth — Woman Tells Fellow Women

A Nigerian woman has sparked widespread discussion on social media after advising women not to assume that marrying a white man automatically guarantees a wealthy lifestyle.

In a video that has since gone viral, the woman shared her perspective on dating and marrying white men, explaining that such relationships often come with a very different mindset compared to what many African women may be used to.

According to her, African men are generally raised to see themselves as the primary providers in the household, while many white men tend to operate a 50/50 system, where both partners are expected to contribute equally to finances and responsibilities.

She cautioned women against unrealistic expectations, stressing that marriage alone does not translate to financial comfort.

“If you ever find yourself dating an Oyibo, you cannot rely on him like you rely on an African man,” she said.

She further added that unless a woman marries into extreme wealth, she should be prepared to work hard and be financially independent.

“Unless you marry someone whose family is swimming in oil money or owns luxury cars, you will have to hustle,” she stated.
