Mariah May’s title reign started with a troll job & a Glamorous reveal

On the fallout edition of Dynamite last night (Aug. 28), one of the wrestlers who turned their Owen Hart Foundation Tournament win into a World title at All In this past Sunday shared an emotional moment with fans and issued an challenge to the locker room for their first defense.

It was not new AEW Women’s World champion Mariah May.

Instead, May informed the fans in Champaign, Illinois that she wasn’t going to hold her planned celebration in their town (which she said should be renamed to “Flat Stale Piss-Warm Beer”, Illinois, prompting Taz to quip, “well, it’s a college town”, which made this blogger spit Diet Coke on his screen... but I digress).

Mariah did more than just run down the University of Illinois’ main campus, though. She gave them what she says they desperately needed... some glamour. So The Glamour opened her robe and gave them some.

What the new champ’s segment didn’t include was any indication of who her first defense will come against. It also provided no insight into what’s going on with the former champ, Timeless Toni Storm, who was last seen dancing away into the London night.
